Religion: We are learning about the Church Season of Advent and Christmas.
Reading: We are in Unit 3 of our text. The next five stories have the theme of Patterns in Nature. The skills you can be working on at home are graphic sources, multiple-meaning words, facts and opinions, generalizations, cause and effect, and inferences. It is always fun and helpful to take time once a week to have your child choose a book to read aloud to you for fluency.
English: We are working in Unit 3. The focus is on verbs. Practice and review identifying action verbs, tenses, verb phrases (main verb and helping verb), linking verbs, irregular verbs, contractions with not, and using commas in a series.
Science: We are starting Chapter 1 in Earth Science. The focus is on earth and its resources. Take time to review lesson definitions in notebook, outline worksheets, and understand corrections on lesson review worksheets. Doing so, will help to retain information as we work through the chapter.
Social Studies: We are working on learning about our United States Regions. We will also need to memorize the states and capitals for each region.
Spelling: Remember to keep up with your daily activities in your notebook and the workbook pages for Ms. Lovingood. There is a test every Friday on the list words.
Math: Practice your facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division daily.
Reminder: Please, make sure to check your child's assignment book nightly so you can review homework with him/her and study for tests. Also, check your child's daily folder for notes from the school.
